Singer, Shelly Rudolph, returned to her hometown of Portland in 2004, after spending five busy years performing and recording as a jazz and blues chanteuse in Los Angeles, and two years in Santa Barbara, dazzling her audiences as she toured to exotic ports such as Japan, Korea, the West Indies, and on both coasts of the USA.
She sings sultry, swingin', steamy jazz, and soulful, funky dance music.
The LA Times said, "Many can put you in the mood for dancing and romancing. Some can help you forget your cares and woes. A few can astonish you with their phrasing, intonation and pure tone. Ms. Rudolph accomplishes all of these feats."
Her command of the bandstand, and warm, sophisticated, polished stage presence, accompanied by top, Portland-based musicians, create magical, memorable evenings on the dance floor.
The Shelly Rudolph Band is a five-piece ensemble, including keyboards, bass, drums, saxophone, and Shelly on lead vocals. For smaller events, she can perform as a duo with keyboard or guitar, trio, quartet, or add guitar and additional horns for a full, band sound that would compliment any ballroom.
Shelly welcomes your requests.
Shelly also sings with keyboard wizard and bandleader, Ramsey Embick, and in his sizzling Cuban Salsa Band, Ramsey Y Los Montunos.
