Vocalist MARILYN KELLER, brings sparkle, grace and a wealth of experience to the bandstand. Known for her “riveting stage presence, and killer renditions of gospel/blues”, her repertoire includes Jazz, and Big Band hits, R & B Motown, Rock n’ Roll, Funk and contemporary Pop favorites. Her ballads are haunting, soulful and tender, but she “gets down” with the best of them in all kinds of high-energy tunes that are so much fun to dance to. TRUE FRIENDS is a five piece band consisting of keyboard, bass, drums, guitar, and Marilyn on lead vocals. Band members add great harmonies. For smaller events, they can perform as a quartet, or add horns as the budget allows. Her exquisite vocals are frequently requested for wedding ceremonies.
MARILYN KELLER has performed at countless weddings, corporate parties, music festivals, wineries, and with many of Portland’s finest musicians, including Tall Jazz, Tom Grant, Darrell Grant, The Swingline Cubs, Don Latarski, Michael Allen Harrison, Patrick Lamb, the Mt. Hood Festival of Jazz, the Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, Chemeketa CC, and on cruise ships in the Caribbean. She and her band have played at weekly Jazz church service at Augustana Lutheran Church for many years. She has opened for the legendary Ray Charles, sung the National anthem at a Portland Trail Blazer game, and has been guest soloist with the Eugene Symphony Orchestra. Her warm, confident and easy-going style enables her clients to relax and have a wonderful time whenever she is on the bandstand.
At weddings, MARILYN KELLER welcomes your special requests, invites you to use the microphone for toasts and announcements, and is happy to serve as Emcee for all of the special wedding traditions, including First Dance and Bouquet Toss.
The band price is highly competitive, based on date, time, location and length of engagement. All terms are outlined in contract. Tuxedo is standard attire for weddings, unless you specify otherwise. Please call for quote.
