Raised in the small town of Monmouth, Oregon in the Willamette River Valley, Joe was no stranger to hard work. He spent his youth working 60-80 hours a week in the woods and on farms. Joe worked his way through college by shoeing horses until he graduated from Eastern Oregon University in 1998 with a Master's degree in education. He taught High School and coached football for three years. He has worn many hats, but his first real and true love is performing country music. Joe feeds off the energy of the crowd while performing, and that is where he is most comfortable and where he loves to be. Joe started out recording dozens of his own songs and selling them to friends, family and fans and at local rodeos. In 2004, Joe opened up as a "Young Guns" participant for Reba McEntire and Neal McCoy at Country Thunder in Arizona. From there, Joe knew his calling. After moving to Nashville, Joe met Producer Jeffrey Vice, President of Red Tin Music. Jeff introduced him to Jaime LaRitz of Dog Ear Music, where Joe recorded his album. After chasing this dream for over three years, Joe finally finished his 12 song album, "When the Dust Settles" which was recorded in Nashville. Today, Joe's focus is getting his music heard by as many people as possible. He is anxious to get on the road touring and making a difference in the music industry through his voice, integrity, character and storytelling songs.
