Javier Solis is an Internationally recognized Professional Dancer, Choreographer, Instructor, and Promoter.  He is from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico.  Javier founded the Portland Salsa Congress in 2005.  It has since developed into the premier competitive Salsa Congress in the Pacific Northwest.

Javier has been busy founding many more Congresses including in Boise, Denver, and Merida, Mexico.  He has partnered with the most respected names in Salsa including Albert Torres, to ensure every dancer has the most amazing and satisfying experience.

Gemini (Javier's performance name), has opened and performed for many major Latin Salsa Stars including Oscar De Leon, Victor Manuel and Gilberto Santarosa.

Gemini and his team have also done many half-time performances for the Portland Trail Blazers and was a judge for the Blazer's Dancer try-outs.

Gemini made history world-wide, dancing on the Great Wall of China in 2007.  He was invited to tour to Beijing to demonsatrate and teach Salsa dancing.  He had such a great time, and was so well-received, he plans to make another tour back to China later this year.

On March 9, 2013, Gemini Salsa presented an exhibition of sizzling salsa dancing at the "Out Of Sight Salsa" Benefit for the "School of Piano Technology For the Blind" in Vancouver, WA, aka, "The Piano Hospital".  They are the only school in the world that teaches blind students to become piano tuners and technicians so they can earn a good living when they graduate from the two year program.  Students come from 15 countries around the world.

Gemini is available to teach salsa lessons, and to perform dance exhibitions at your next event.  A major dance Congress is coming to Portland in June 2013.  More information will appear here soon.
