You never really know what will happen when Yankl takes the microphone in hand. It could be a traditional dance tune, it could be James Brown sung in Yiddish. He has been known to, on the spot, improvise lyrics to an entire tune teasing the bride and groom, making use of information gleaned from their friends on our last break. And it all rhymes. The Finkelstein Conspiracy is not your ordinary Klezmer band. They perform an eclectic mix of Klezmer music, Israeli dance tunes and traditional and contemporary Jewish music from all over the world. Their blend of male and female vocals with instrumentals featuring clarinet, guitar and piano ensure that the pace never slackens. But, if requested, they can also move in countless other directions from Rhythm & Blues to Jazz to Rock 'n Roll. Both singers have traveled all over the world and their tastes and influences roam the globe from Eastern Europe to Africa. Whether your needs are a traditional Jewish wedding ceremony or a night of Klezmer dance music, or a relaxed blend of Klezmer and non-Jewish music, this group will please your most discriminating guest. JACK "YANKL" FALK (Clarinet, Vocals) SUSY WOLFSON (Piano, Keyboards, Vocals) LEROY CRITCHER (Bass, Guitar) JON HUGHES (Bass) JOE JANIGA (Drums, Percussion) |
