Angela Shyr is a violinist and pianist whose rigorous classical training extended beyond private lessons at an early age. She was on stage performing for Yehudi Menuhin by age 7, playing the halls of Musikverein, Vienna, by 16 under that baton of Benjamin Zander (founder/director/conductor of the Boston Philharmonic), and played debut solo with an orchestra in Paris at 14.
Angela attended Longy School of Music, New England Conservatory and was already a professional piano accompanist during her years at Eastman School of Music. During these formative years, she was always traveling to Europe to perform. After college, she traveled to Morocco, West Africa and other parts of the world to play with local musicians and record music in their respective countries.
January 2009 Angela currently lives in Boston, MA but is making plans to move to Oregon in the early spring. In the mean time, she makes frequent trips to Portland.
