After living in Portland for nearly 20 years, Alfredo and his wife are moving to the Boulder, Colorado area in April 2010. He will be joining the music faculty at several local colleges, and is wife will be joining a medical practice.
They plan to come back to Portland to visit family and friends as often as possible, and will present at least one concert in the Rose City a year.
He will be glad to travel back to Portland to play for weddings and special events if the client will assist in paying his travel expenses.
We will miss him very much, and he us, but wish him great success with his new projects and audiences in Colorado and the great South West.

Alfredo Muro was born in Lima, Peru. At the age of ten, he began teaching himself to play the guitar. His self-teaching progressed rapidly. He was soon awarded a scholarship to study with Maestro Jose Pepe Torres at his Guitar Academy.

Mr. Muro is not only an accomplished soloist, but is also an arranger and composer. His work as an accompanist has also won critical acclaim. In 1999, Mr.. Muro released a solo CD, "Journey Through The Strings" to rave reviews.

His repertoire ranges from South American folk songs to Latin Jazz, Mainstream Jazz, Blues and Spanish music, and from theBeatles, Baden Powell and Jobim, to Bach and Handel.
